Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

[ English ]
  • Progressive side wagers: Games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You generally put a bet (a dollar is the usual value) to try to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though big jackpots like this are very appealing, they’re also particularly complicated to win. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, think about this- you play twenty hands and lay the side bet each time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game wager instead of a sucker wager. Just think about what you might have been able to win at a wager with better odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only 1. This takes the complete casino advantage from 2% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26% in American. The individual number bet has only a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the house advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that was not a error. Because of the huge set of numbers you must select, it isn’t recommended to gamble on Keno to often. A number of times for fun, perhaps. But don’t spend all your money on it or you’ll immediately find yourself broke.
