Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part Two

  • Progressive side bets: Games like Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You generally place a bet (a dollar is the usual value) to try to win a side jackpot that can reach $25,000. Although big jackpots like this are very tempting, they are also very complicated to succeed. You might need to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, imagine this- you play twenty hands and place the side wager every time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker wager. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the complete house edge from 2.63percent with one zero wheel to a whopping 5percent in American. The one number bet has only a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers alternately which have a much lower house advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you play it, the casino advantage can be a whopping 25%. No, that is not a error. Because of the large set of numbers you must select, it’s not advisable to play Keno very much. A number of times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself broke.
