Web Casino Sucker Wagers — Part Two

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You usually put a wager ($1 is the normal amount) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although big jackpots like this are very tempting, they’re also particularly hard to succeed. You would have to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, think about this- you wager twenty hands and place the side wager every time. That’s 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker wager. Just think about what you could have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds using that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This shifts the complete house edge from 2.63percent with a single zero wheel to a whopping five% in American. The one number bet has only a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much smaller casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you bet on it, the house advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that is not a error. Because of the huge amount of numbers you must choose, it’s not advisable to play Keno very much. A few times for entertainment, perhaps. But don’t spend all your cash on it or you will immediately discover yourself broke.
